Job Summary
Manage the Jacob Duman Early Childhood program by working with the Site Director on strategic planning, curriculum excellence, and growth strategies. Review and create plans to meet agency goals, while ensuring compliance with DCFS and JCC standards. Spend weekly time in classrooms to support staff, provide feedback, and maintain safe, secure environments. Actively recruit families, conduct tours, and build community through parent orientation and open houses. Assist with staffing plans, interviews, training, and mediation to foster collaborative teaching teams. Oversee risk management, security plans, and budget oversight, while maintaining accurate records and ordering supplies. Be a welcoming presence daily for families and children. Monday through Friday, 7.5 hours per day, with occasional weekend and evening hours as determined by the Director.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education or related field
- Minimum of 21 hours in Early Childhood college course work
- At least 2 years supervisory experience or program management in an Early Childhood environment
- Demonstrated intermediate level proficiency in MS Word, Excel
- Valid driver's license for at least 24 months
- Proof of auto insurance (with a minimum $250,000 liability)
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible work schedule
- Ability and willingness to travel to various JCC Chicago program locations
- Must have reliable transportation
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Early Childhood Education
- Experience working within NAEYC, DCFS and Municipal Health Dept. guidelines
- Demonstrated experience with emergent curriculum and outdoor classrooms
- Experience within a Reggio Emilia inspired school
- Demonstrated knowledge of Jewish culture and values with previous Jewish programming experience
- Ability to demonstrate and lead with JCC Chicago's Four Core Values: Self-Leadership and Accountability, Creativity and Innovation, Teamwork and Collaboration, and Customer Service
- Outstanding customer service skills with a demonstrated passion for children and families
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with proven ability for follow up & follow through
- Demonstrate the ability to learn to develop and maintain budgets
