Job Summary
Assist the lead teacher with students in the classroom to meet instructional goals by carrying out daily schedules and overseeing indoor and outdoor activities. Directly manage all children in care, actively participating in age-appropriate self-help skills like feeding and grooming while guiding conflict resolution. Respond quickly to emergency situations and intervene when children become physically aggressive, ensuring equal respect for all backgrounds. Anticipate potential problems and redirect behavior as needed, treating children with kindness and support. Work a split shift daily in various child care classrooms as assignments depend on enrollment.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma
- Valid Center-Based Preschool CDA or Associate degree in early childhood education
- Minimum of one to two years of early childhood and/or child care experience
- Flexible to work a split shift daily
- Must meet all required qualifications as stated in Licensing Rule Book and program specific manual
- Flexible to work in all child care classrooms when needed
- Ability to work effectively with children and parents
- Awareness of child development theory and practices
- Knowledge of social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs
- Ability to work cooperatively with staff and students
- Ability to treat children with kindness and respect
- Self-motivated, dependable and responsible
- Must be available and able to perform functions of the job
- CPR, First Aide Certificate
- Good attendance record
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one to two years of early childhood and/or child care experience
