Early-Career Scientist or Engineer (Site Investigation & Remediation)

Job Summary
Conduct fieldwork including soil, surface water, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling, drilling, contractor oversight, and construction quality assurance. Manage project tasks and schedules while planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects for contaminated sites. Design sampling plans, review chemical analysis results, and support bench scale treatability testing and pilot programs. Analyze hydrogeologic and chemical data to evaluate contaminant fate and transport, then visualize site investigation data into tables, maps, and figures. Prepare technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals for industrial and mining clients. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or geology, at least two years of related field investigation experience, and a valid Canadian driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology or a related field of study
- At least 2 years of related experience conducting field investigations and studies, including observation of drilling and well installation, soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and other field techniques
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and related software
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Valid Canadian driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in engineering, geology or a related field of study
- Prior experience in contaminated media or remediation technology
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental remediation
- Professional Certification - Engineer-in-Training or Geoscientist-in-Training
