Job Summary
Conduct geotechnical and environmental site characterization including field explorations, sampling, and in-situ infiltration testing. Perform and review geotechnical engineering analyses for slope stability, foundation design, and seismic characterization. Develop instrumentation monitoring systems and prepare engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, and technical specifications. Support project management, proposal preparation, and construction quality assurance while driving to client sites. Requires a Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering or geology, at least two years of related experience, and willingness to perform regular fieldwork and overnight travel. Valid U.S. driver's license and satisfactory driving record are required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil and/or environmental engineering or geology
- At least 2 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Willingness to perform regular field work and overnight travel
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing
- Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a geotechnical related discipline
- Prior internship or work experience in engineering consulting
- Strong fundamentals in geotechnical engineering theory and practice
- Experience with geotechnical and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Slope/W, Seep/W, Sigma/W, Slide 2D/3D, PLAXIS 2D/3D, LPILE, and gINT
