Job Summary
Join the US Mine Waste Team where you'll work on civil and geotechnical engineering projects for the mining industry. Responsibilities include site and material characterization, facility design, slope stability analyses, surface water management facility design, preparing technical reports, and assisting with project design packages. The position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, completion of the FE exam, and 0 to 1 years of related experience. Candidates should have strong research and communication skills, and be proficient in technical writing and office automation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, or closely related discipline
- 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or the ability to complete the exam within 6 months of start date
- Excellent research skills with analytical mindset
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking
- Ability to work independently under general supervision and as part of a team
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Engineer in Training Certification
- Master's degree in Civil or Geotechnical engineering, or relevant field of study
- Prior internship related to the degree of study and specific engineering discipline
- A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations
