Job Summary

Process prescriptions, verify patient and medication details, and prepare orders according to client specifications under the direction of the Pharmacy Supervisor. Accountable for checking patient history for duplicate orders, maintaining prescription logs, and performing quality assurance checks on pharmacy equipment. Follow HIPAA guidelines, enforce company policies, and communicate discrepancies to the pharmacist. Maintain a clean work site and handle up to 50 pounds. Requires a Registered Technician with the Florida Board of Pharmacy, one year of pharmacy experience, and PTCB certification. Full-time role with a base pay of $17 per hour, including health, dental, vision, retirement, and paid time off.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Registered Technician with Florida Board of Pharmacy in good standing
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, brand and generic names of medications, and general pharmacy terminology
  • Location of job activities 100% inside
  • Noise and / or vibrations exposure
  • Reaching (overhead), handling, and feeling
  • Stand, bend, stoop and sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds
  • Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment, including the operation of standard computer and phone equipment
  • Ability to recognize subtle differences in names and numbers
  • Ability to work effectively in highly stressful situations, exhibiting flexibility in changing situations
  • May have occasional high stress when dealing with customers/clients and employees
  • This position may be required to work long hours

Desired Qualifications

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician in good standing preferred
  • Minimum of one year pharmacy experience preferred
  • One (1) year of previous specialty pharmacy technician experience with exposure to fulfillment of prescription orders
  • Nationally certified through the PTCB or another approved certifying agency
  • Inventory or logistics control experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and organization skills
  • Ability to learn from a variety of techniques
  • Ability to follow established process flows
  • Basic math skills
  • Computer literacy to include operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, presentation software, communication and collaboration tools, and Adobe PDF or comparable
