Job Summary

Provide age-appropriate activities and services to children enrolled in the Extended Day Program, ages 3-12, both indoors and outdoors. Develop positive relationships with children, parents, staff, and community members through effective written and verbal communication. Plan and implement activities while assisting in maintaining a clean and safe facility and playground. Address behavior management and maintain confidentiality regarding student and family records. Administer children's medication and First Aid as needed, completing necessary State of Michigan and District-level documentation. Participate in staff-development and professional development activities up to 16 clock hours per calendar year. Maintain consistent and punctual attendance during the school year, including evenings and weekends for events or training.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate
  • 18+ years of age
  • Prior experience working/interacting with children
  • Current first Aid training
  • Current infant CPR training
  • Current child CPR training
  • Current adult CPR training
  • Willingness to obtain CPR training at next available offering
  • Willingness to complete up to 16 clock hours of professional development training
  • Ability to report on a regular and consistent basis
  • Consistent and punctual attendance
  • Ability to walk and perform physical activity
  • Ability to use hands and arms for signaling and light lifting/carrying up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to move about the classroom/building and school property
  • Ability to sit on the floor
  • Ability to bend
  • Ability to push/pull
  • Ability to lift
  • Ability to twist
  • Ability to climb
  • Ability to stoop
  • Ability to crouch
  • Ability to listen and effectively orally communicate information and ideas to a diverse population
