Job Summary
Aircraft Mechanic with EA-18G Growler experience sought to perform O-level maintenance on F-18 aircraft at NAS Whidbey Island (Oak Harbor, WA). Responsibilities include pre/post flight activities and inspections, maintenance operations on aircraft/equipment/engines/systems, tear-down and reassembly of components and flight controls, reading wiring schematics and manuals, using torque tools and hand tools, dimensional verification with micrometers/calipers, and modifying assemblies per change requirements while ensuring quality and compliance with procedures. Must have 3+ years EA-18G experience, active DoD clearance, strong English communication, ability to work flexible schedules, and the ability to document actions and handle safety requirements. Physical requirements include lifting up to 35 pounds and performing in constrained spaces; travel up to 10% may be required. Primary location is NAS Whidbey Island, Oak Harbor, WA; security and safety standards apply.
Required Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance (or higher) with a recent background investigation
- Minimum 3 years of EA-18G experience
- Experience with inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, removals, and repairs on EA-18G/F-18 aircraft
- Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures
- Ability to set up and use a torque wrench and common hand tools
- Ability to measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
- Ability to modify assemblies to incorporate changes and verify quality per SPC or other control procedures
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules to accommodate customer maintenance requirements
- Ability to document maintenance actions, equipment status tags, logs, parts requests, etc.
- Ability to pass physical/respirator clearance and comply with safety requirements
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- U.S. citizenship required for government clearance eligibility
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
