E.R. Technician (AAMC) - PT (.6) - D/E

Provide direct care to patients and families in a developmentally, culturally, and ethically appropriate manner. Perform IVs, phlebotomy, 12-lead EKGs, wound care, and vital signs while assisting physicians and providers with fracture reduction, dislocations, and cast application. Apply splints and immobilizers, instruct patients on proper use, and transport medications securely within the institution. Process medical orders, label blood tubes correctly, communicate STAT updates, and document all care via computerized Point of Care Testing. Maintain adequate supply levels and equipment as defined by unit standards. Requires current Nursing Assistant certification and BLS; involves heavy physical exertion up to 100 pounds occasionally.
