Job Summary
Modify, rebuild, or overhaul electronic and electrical equipment and controls. Apply knowledge of electric theory and electronic principles to determine equipment malfunctions and restore operation. Receive wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications, and instructions for repair, installation, and inspection work. Plan and perform work requiring thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and practical application of electronic equipment. Identify needed replacement parts and prepare requisitions. Determine material or replacement needs and craft a logical repair approach. Service electronic equipment by testing and replacing faulty components, circuit modules, PCB boards, vacuum tubes, and similar devices. Conduct plant-wide electronic and electrical maintenance with required operating adjustments. Create sketches of parts and layouts; design adaptations of components as needed. Maintain and install communication and power distribution cables and perform splicing. Fabricate parts using machine and hand tools. Inform supervisor and line mechanics of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective actions. Advise operators and line mechanics on SOPs and safety requirements for handling electronic equipment. Maintain performance and maintenance records for equipment. Punctuality and regular attendance required. Meet or exceed performance expectations. Adhere to safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies. Possess a valid state driver's license. Work safely, identify hazards, and collaborate to correct them. Perform other duties as required.
