Job Summary
E-core CPU Physical Design Engineer needed to design CPU core blocks for Intel Atom, from synthesis through post-layout verification and tapeout. Responsibilities include developing custom constraints for driving synthesis and Auto-Place and Route (APR) tools to meet aggressive timing and power goals, collaborating with micro-architecture, RTL, and circuit teams to converge designs to project targets, floor planning and routing studies, timing analysis, low power techniques, physical verification closure, and scripting for data analysis and recipe creation. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required. The role supports a hybrid work model in Malaysia (Penang) and demands the ability to work independently within a high-performing team and meet aggressive schedules.
Required Qualifications
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of CPU physical design and timing verification
- Synthesis/APR flows on multi voltage high frequency designs including custom polygon editing
- Tcl scripting
- Noise, cross-talk, OCV analysis
- Floor planning and physical design and timing closure
- Formal equivalence, DRC/LVS, IR and electro-migration checks
- Preferred: 6+ years of experience with the above skill sets
- Experience with Fusion Compiler, DCT, DCE, ICC2, RedHawk, ICV, Conformal, Calibre, PrimeTime, StarRCXT
- Cadence Tools Experience (Preferred)
