Job Summary
Pick and pull merchandise from shelves to prepare items for photographing and placement on Shop Goodwill.com. Photograph each item clearly and write grammatically correct descriptions to ensure accurate online display. Keep store shelves organized, answer customer questions about available goods, and work with the supervisor to price merchandise. Meet daily goals, adhere to safety rules, and report supplies needs or accidents immediately. Maintain confidentiality regarding donors and persons receiving services while attending required meetings and training sessions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have the ability to write grammatically correct descriptions of merchandise that is for sale on the website
- Must photograph merchandise to display on the Shop Goodwill website
- Must answer customer questions regarding the merchandise for sale
- Must work with supervisor to price merchandise that is for sale
- Excellent attendance and punctuality
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to lift, push and pull a minimum of 30 lbs as required
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to bend, reach and stretch repeatedly during the work shift
- Ability to move throughout production area with ease
- Must be able to work flexible hours (including weekends if needed)
- Must have a pleasant and friendly attitude
- Ability to follow written or verbal instructions
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision
- Ability to develop and maintain effective and professional working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, customers, donors, and persons receiving services
- Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
- Ability to provide support services by working with disabled/disadvantaged persons and assisting in the rehabilitation process of Goodwill Industries of El Paso, Inc
- Excellent writing skills
- spelling is required
- Ability to adhere to all safety procedures and report all incidents/accidents in a timely manner
Desired Qualifications
- Customer service experience, and experience in operation of computers and Microsoft Office software (word, excel) and data entry, preferred
- Experience with a digital camera a plus
- Good communication skills
- Experience in a used goods or retail store helpful
