Job Summary
Provide instruction to students under the direction of a teacher, working with individuals or small groups. Assist in preparing instructional materials, classroom displays, and objective testing instruments. Help maintain a neat classroom, manage equipment inventory, and prepare administrative reports. Supervise students throughout the school day, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duty, while making teachers aware of individual special needs. Participate in staff development training, faculty meetings, and special events as assigned. Requires a valid Texas education aide certificate, Para Professional certification, or Associate's degree, with some experience working with children.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Para Professional Certification or Associate's degree, two years of study at an institution of higher learning or have met formal academic assessment as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
- Valid Texas education aide certificate
- Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
- Ability to work well with children
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Some experience working with children
