Job Summary
Monitor students in classrooms, lunch rooms, hallways, and break areas while assisting certified teachers with instruction and classroom maintenance. Prepare curriculum materials and activities, then provide dyslexia and content area interventions to students individually or in small groups as directed. Maintain accurate student intervention records and escort students between classrooms and activities. Requires daily in-district travel between Butterfield Trail Middle School and Thicksten Center for Learning. This one-year contract covers the 2026-2027 school year and includes participation in required dyslexia tutor training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Passing score on Paraprofessional assessment at hire or 60 college hours
- Clean background check
- Be able to stand/sit for the majority of the school day
- Be able to walk short distances to escort students between classrooms and activities
- Be able to sit, stand, lean, reach, bend, lift and squat to assist students as needed
- Be able to walk on uneven surfaces
- Be able to walk up and down stairs
- Be outside in all weather conditions for assigned duty
- Requires daily in-district travel
- Position is a one year contract for the 2026-2027 school year only
- Location for this position will be split between Butterfield Trail Middle School and Thicksten Center for Learning (ALE)
