Job Summary
Observability Engineer in Enterprise Service Operations responsible for monitoring performance of critical applications, managing the tribe backlog, leading sprints to deploy monitoring tools, and enhancing the observability ecosystem with Dynatrace Grail, dashboards, synthetic journeys, and cloud integrations. Will build and optimise synthetic journeys, cloud integrations, and Dynatrace APIs to improve telemetry ingestion and monitoring coverage; deploy and scale monitoring infrastructure including ActiveGates on AWS/GCP; leverage scripting (PowerShell, Terraform) to support automation and deliver real-time operational visibility.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in IT, with 6+ years in Observability, APM, and monitoring
- Hands-on experience deploying, managing, and optimizing Dynatrace
- Dynatrace certifications highly desirable
- Strong DQL skills with queries in Notebooks, Dashboards, and Davis Anomaly Detection
- Understanding of Segments and Boundaries and their relationship with Management Zones and ABAC
- Ability to build custom extensions using YAML or the Grail Custom Extensions Creator app
- Experience integrating Dynatrace with AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Knowledge of Synthetics, including creating monitors and user journeys
- Dynatrace REST APIs for automation and workflows
- Platform experience across Windows, Solaris, and Linux (RHEL)
- Background in infrastructure, application development, or support with exposure to Java, .NET, or Python
- Experience working with containers, microservices, and distributed architectures
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines
- Scripting experience using PowerShell, PowerShell Universal, or similar tools
- Experience deploying Dynatrace ActiveGates on AWS and GCP using Terraform
- Ability to build automation workflows similar to Monaco-style deployments using Terraform
