Job Summary
Coordinate operations of the Division of Watershed Management for the City of Atlanta, supervising/training staff and coordinating investigation, reporting, and resolution of storm water flooding complaints and maintenance/repair of storm water infrastructure. Duties include planning and evaluating policy/program development, personnel and fiscal management, and public relations; oversee sewer overflow reports to EPA/GAEPD; ensure QA/QC and reconciliation of sewer spills; assign daily crew tasks; perform field inspections; respond to storm water-related claims; manage purchases, equipment rental, and special maintenance projects; train staff on easement research and field inspection techniques; communicate effectively with citizens; and participate in meetings to discuss research results. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, three years of watershed experience, and a Georgia driver’s license. The role is Hybrid with in-person work at city worksites at least four days/week and remote one day/week, subject to eligibility and supervisor approval.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, or related area
- Three (3) years experience in dealing with watershed issues
- Valid State of Georgia driver’s license
