Job Summary
Conduct in-depth assessments of clients' physical, mental health, and social needs to develop housing goals and individualized safety plans. Provide mobile advocacy services by meeting clients regularly, assisting with protective orders, accompanying clients to court, and facilitating housing searches and lease negotiations. Administer flexible financial assistance, collaborate on monthly budgets, and deliver psychoeducation on the Cycle of Violence. Document all contacts in client files and VADATA while maintaining complete records. Empower clients to work toward their goals, collaborate with community providers for wrap-around services, and participate in staff meetings and training. Utilize Microsoft products daily and drive a minivan for 10-15% of local travel. Work with the Senior Case Manager to ensure services align with agency philosophy and applicable regulations.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in social work/human services/ related field or commensurate experience
- 1+ years of human services or direct services experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize competing priorities and make sound judgements
- Ability to complete tasks while navigating frequent interruptions
- Ability to deliver creative, resourceful solutions to unique challenges
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation/ 10-15% local travel for appointments
- Ability to Drive a minivan
- Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours when needed
- Annual TB Test is required
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods
- Ability to lift items weighing 10-20 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with providing services to victims of domestic violence, mental health issues, and substance abuse
- Foreign Language fluency in a language other than English (ex. Spanish, Farsi, Arabic or Amharic)
