Job Summary
Oversee the domestic violence advocacy program area by supervising staff, managing grant monitoring and reporting, and conducting program planning with budget recommendations. Provide coaching on crisis management and conflict resolution while administering assessments and training staff in trauma-informed, strengths-based interventions. Collaborate with the Program Director on hiring, evaluation, and scheduling, including rotating on-call responsibilities for program staff. May carry a client caseload providing direct services to survivors and their children while representing Metropolitan Family Services in the community. Requires Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional certification by the first year and a Bachelor's degree with five years of experience. Full-time role at the Calumet office with a salary range of $62,000 to $69,000.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years' experience
- experience in domestic violence survivor services
- experience in other services as appropriate to the specific role
- Demonstrated increase in administrative/supervisory responsibilities across time
- Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional (CDVP) certification
- Must be able to accommodate flexibility in work schedule, which may include some variable evenings and/or weekends
- Satisfactorily pass all relevant screenings and background checks
- Driving for work required with personally owned vehicle
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree (for court programs)
- three years' experience in the field of gender-based violence and/or social services
- Court/legal advocacy experience
- supervisors of the Court Advocacy Programs
- 40-hour Domestic Violence training at time of hire
- 40-hour Domestic Violence training required at first opportunity upon hire and must be completed prior to any contact with DV program clients or their personally identifying information
