Job Summary
Provide direct housing support and crisis intervention to survivors of gender-based violence, including safety planning, emotional support, and life skills development. Develop individualized service plans with clients, track progress, and facilitate linkages to community resources for transportation, childcare, and clothing. Administer assessments, maintain case documentation in Infonet, and handle emergency situations while adhering to the Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professionals' code of ethics. Collaborate with departmental staff, attend mandatory supervision and meetings, and stay current on field developments through workshops and conferences. Requires a personally owned vehicle for site travel, flexibility for evening and weekend shifts, and 4+ years of experience in emergency shelter environments.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- 4+ years' work experience
- associate's degree plus 2+ year work experience
- experience in the field of gender-based violence
- experience in a social service-related capacity
- Experience working in an emergency shelter environment
- Must be able to accommodate flexibility in work schedule
- Must be able to operate general office equipment
- basic computer knowledge
- Satisfactorily pass all relevant screenings
- pass criminal background checks
- Driving for work

- Travel between sites
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology

- Experience in social services

- Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional (CDVP) certification
- Bilingual/bicultural
- 40-hour Domestic Violence training at time of hire
