Job Summary
Lead all service staff and contractors in delivering high-quality aquatic and recreation opportunities while maintaining welcoming, inclusive, and safe environments. Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to support staff performance, address conduct concerns, and communicate daily actions to relevant leaders. Ensure facilities remain clean, neat, and presentable by promptly addressing and reporting any safety issues. Oversee operational coordination, including program setup, pack-up, and signage alignment with booking allocations. Maintain appropriate aquatic supervision levels by completing routine supervision reviews and daily operational checks. Manage shift rosters to ensure service coverage and break compliance, while supervising all customers to encourage a safe, enjoyable environment. Address operational issues in line with procedures and policies.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a supervisory role within a Leisure or Aquatic Facility
- Knowledge and understanding of departmental and organisational goals and policies
- Specialist knowledge regarding Aquatic Operations and Supervision requirements
- Demonstrated organisational skills including the capacity to develop, monitor and continually improve administrative procedures, systems, and reports
- Ability to gain cooperation and communicate both verbally and in written form with a broad range of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Ability to relate and resolve problems with customers, facility staff, stakeholders, and other Council departments
- A demonstrated ability in the provision of quality customer service and effectively meeting the needs and expectations of customers
- Demonstrated ability to deal with customer requests and issues that arise, providing support to staff with difficult queries or issues of a technical nature
- Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate
- Pool Operators Certificate and / or relevant experience in pool plant operation
- AUSTSWIM Certificate
- Current CPR Certificate
- Current Provide First Aid Certificate
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence
- Must be available to actively work across all three aquatic facilities (Sunbury, Broadmeadows & Splash)
- Must be available to work at Broadmeadows Aquatic & Leisure Centre
- Must be available to work at Splash Aqua Park & Leisure Centre
- Must be available to work at Sunbury Aquatic & Leisure Centre
- Must be available to work at Craigieburn Sports Stadium
- Must be available to work at Greenvale Recreation Centre
- Must be available to work at Hume Indoor Cricket Centre
- Must be able to specify the facilities you are available to work at as part of your application
- All candidates will be required to undertake background and probity checks including Reference Checks, Working with Children Check, and a Criminal Record Check
