Job Summary
Dutch Linguist role supporting Corporate Language Support Services across YSG/TU with open evergreen requisitions for current and future language support needs. Responsibilities may include interpretation in-person and virtual, translation of written/electronic/audio/video materials, document review/editing, and foreign language instruction in classroom or virtual settings. Candidates may be considered for a range of language support roles across the portfolio as opportunities arise; travel may be required to support CONUS-based or remote operations. Security clearance requirements vary by CAT level (CAT I: local nationals/TCNs/uncleared U.S. citizens; CAT II: U.S. citizens with SECRET clearance; CAT III: U.S. citizens with TOP SECRET/S CI access). Locations include Remote Operations Support in Huntsville, AL and Remote TU Support at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. Prepare to support interpretation, translation, transcription, and training needs for government contracts, with emphasis on idiomatic translation, accuracy, cultural familiarity, and ability to work under high pressure in team settings.
Required Qualifications
- Must be qualified/certified at one of CAT I, CAT II, or CAT III with ILR proficiency levels (ILR 2+ in English for CAT I/II; ILR 3 in English for CAT III)
- Ability to provide idiomatic translations and interpretation
- Experience providing foreign language instruction to adult students
- Ability to conduct consecutive, accurate translation and interpretation
- Familiarity with local culture and customs
- Willingness to live/work in harsh environments as mission dictates
- Ability to work under high pressure and stress
- Team-based collaboration with highly trained professionals
- Fluency in English and foreign language and ability to preserve tone and register
- Security clearance requirements per CAT level (LOCAL NATIONALS/TCNs for CAT I; SECRET for CAT II; TOP SECRET with SCI for CAT III)
