Durable Solutions Associate

Job Summary
Conduct durable solutions counseling for refugees and persons of concern to identify appropriate pathways, including voluntary repatriation, resettlement, and local integration. Interview candidates for these solutions, prepare required documentation in line with Standard Operating Procedures, and update electronic databases. Process documents to ensure timely issuance of durable solution certificates. Draft reports on durable solutions outcomes and support the identification of risks and opportunities impacting objectives. Represent UNHCR in coordination forums related to livelihoods and economic inclusion, and engage with development partners, financial institutions, and private sector stakeholders to promote self-reliance. Work with partners to assess market opportunities and monitor economic inclusion outcomes. This role supports the transition from humanitarian assistance to sustainable development outcomes through economic inclusion initiatives and digital literacy programs in Jigiga, Ethiopia.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor or equivalent or higher degree
- 3 years relevant experience
- 2 years relevant work experience
- HCR Protection Induction Prog
- Knowledge of English
- Knowledge of UN working language of the duty station if not English
- Knowledge of Somali language
- Prior working experience in the Somali Regional State

- Experience in engaging with development actors, international financial institutions (IFIs), and the private sector, as well as both traditional and non-traditional donors
- Experience in the Somali Regional State
