Job Summary
Operates Class A dump trucks to transport construction materials between project sites, loading and unloading efficiently while ensuring proper load distribution and securing. Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections, performs routine maintenance including fluid checks and tire pressure monitoring, and maintains accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, and incidents. Adheres to all traffic laws and safety regulations, communicates with site supervisors to coordinate deliveries, and resolves issues such as traffic delays or mechanical problems while keeping teams informed. Requires a valid Class A CDL, one year of relevant experience, and ability to work various shifts in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of experience as a Class A dump truck driver in a construction or related industry
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
- Available to work various hours and shifts as needed
- Ability to drive safely
- Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps
- Ability to maintain basic logs and records
- Able to remain professional and courteous at all times
- Visual acuity to follow hand signals, maintain logs, and inspect and maintain machinery
- Active, physical work involving occasionally; lifting (50+ lbs), carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching
- Frequently walking, standing, and driving and operating equipment for extended periods of time
- Requires focus adjustment, depth perception, clear close & distant vision
- Requires regular use of hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms
- Requires regular use of eyes, shoulders & neck to monitor vehicle mirrors & back-up camera
- Must be able to work in all weather types, including extreme hot and cold temperatures
