Job Summary
Operate a dump truck to safely deliver construction materials such as asphalt, borrow material, excavation, and stone base to various projects. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections by pulling the hood forward and back, and clean debris from the tailgate and truck sides when needed. Transport materials in a timely manner while maintaining strict safety rules, driving defensively, and staying alert during long periods in elevated temperatures. Must have adequate reading and writing skills for required paperwork and the ability to climb steps to perform tasks on the truck.
Required Qualifications
- One year experience
- CDL Class B
- Valid Medical Card
- At least 19 years old
- Able to abide by precise instructions
- Able to abide by strict but necessary safety rules and polices
- Reliable and trustworthy individual
- Team player
- Good attendance and safety record
- Standing and walking required
- Able to drive for long periods and ability to stay alert and drive defensively
- Ability to climb steps to perform task on the truck
- Able to work long periods of time in elevated temperatures due to weather and materials
- Able to operate equipment at recommended speeds and peaks of operation
- Must be productive during each shift and be willing to meet the goals that are set
- Visual activity - ability to work safely in traffic and to know surroundings while driving, backing and maneuvering in sometimes congested areas
- Able to perform an accurate pre-trip and post trip inspection
- Able to perform pre-trip inspection on truck
- Must have adequate reading and writing skills
