Dual Language Instructional Assistant (Mandarin)

Job Summary
Deliver instruction to students in Mandarin immersion classrooms using core curriculum objectives and literacy rotations. Lead small groups, create lesson plans, and administer assessments while maintaining classroom order and preparing materials. Serve as a Mandarin role model and cultural resource for students, teachers, and the community. Collaborate with lead teachers and dual language team members to promote cross-cultural activities. Travel to Wake and Cumberland County schools for on-site visits and cover instruction when lead teachers are absent. Maintain student performance notes and follow established pacing guides. Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in Mandarin (speaking, listening, reading, and writing)
- Intermediate to high English proficiency
- Post-secondary Degree in Education-related field
- At least one year of Elementary teaching experience
- Must complete designated school district HR process for school volunteer or similar as confirmed by Participate Learning upon offer
- Must meet all Participate Learning employment verification and hiring requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the US
- Must participate in and successfully complete Participate Learning DLIA program trainings & evaluations
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to travel between schools
- Must be available for regular on-site visits to schools
- Must be available for travel within the assigned region
- Must be flexible with time and energy
- Willing to expand beyond the day-to-day expectations of the work
