Job Summary
Dual Language 5th Grade Classroom Teacher will implement a district-approved bilingual program for English and Spanish, fostering student achievement and interpersonal skills. The teacher will document student progress, address individual educational needs, communicate with students, parents, and administration, and maintain professional competence through in-service education and ongoing growth aligned with the district curriculum. Responsibilities include establishing a culture for learning, using effective instructional practices, planning coherent instruction, using data to modify instruction, maintaining accurate records, collaborating with families and the school community, and adhering to district policies and professional standards.
Required Qualifications
- Valid teaching certificate for the State of Washington with required endorsement in the area of assignment
- Dual Language in English and Spanish
- Pass the ACTFL writing and oral proficiency test and the State Test in designated world language (world language endorsement) or WEST-E in bilingual education (bilingual education endorsement)
- Prior experience in the school setting preferred
Additional Requirements
- Fingerprint clearance by Washington State Patrol and FBI
- I-9 employment eligibility verification compliance with IRCA
- CPR and First Aid may be required for the specific assignment
- HIV/HBV training to be obtained within 60 days of hire date
