Job Summary
Tenure-track researcher to develop uniaxial pressure capabilities for neutron spectroscopy at ESS, contributing to the DTU–ESS collaboration. Responsibilities include designing and building in-situ uniaxial pressure cells, planning and conducting neutron spectroscopy experiments across Europe, and analyzing and publishing results. The role involves close collaboration with DTU, ESS, PSI, and international partners, with extended research visits planned. You will contribute to teaching, require a PhD in physical sciences, experience with neutron spectroscopy and data analysis, programming in Python or MATLAB, and a proven ability to work in international teams. Fluency in Danish or English is required, with time to master both. Salary and terms follow the DTU collective agreement; the position is based in Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark.
Required Qualifications
- PhD (or equivalent) in physical sciences
- Experience with neutron spectroscopy
- Experience with challenging sample environment
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications
- Programming skills in Python or Matlab
- Ability to work independently and in large international collaborations
- Contribute to teaching of courses
- Fluency in Danish or English (at least one) and eventual mastery of both
