Job Summary
Assist technicians with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repair, and clearing of system jams on Baggage Handling Systems and Passenger Boarding Bridges. Perform shift inspections, cleaning, electrical and mechanical adjustments, and basic tasks like sweeping, greasing, and reading repair manuals. Diagnose equipment failures under senior guidance while ensuring safe operation and complying with all ELS safety policies and procedures. Complete assigned training, forms, and additional duties as required by management. This role requires a valid driver's license, airport security badge, and ability to work non-traditional schedules including weekends and holidays in terminal environments.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Minimum 1 year of previous mechanical experience
- 1 year previous BHS or PBB experience
- Ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test
- Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Must be able obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the Company's insurance policy
- Must be able to comply with the ELS Drug and Alcohol policy
- Must be committed to working safely while accomplishing all tasks and promoting a safe work environment at all times
Desired Qualifications
- Previous work experience in an Airport environment
- Previous experience working on conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges
