Job Summary
Provide direct care and training to consumers in the community residence, implementing behavior management plans and ensuring personal hygiene needs are met. Administer medications within guidelines, maintain accountability for all residents, and document daily logs, activity schedules, and progress notes accurately. Supervise unit cleanliness through housekeeping, cooking, and laundry tasks while preparing food and supply inventories. Transport consumers as needed and conduct monthly fire drills on each shift. Perform other duties as assigned, including buying groceries and supplies weekly.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Acquire and maintain certification in First Aid, CPR, and CPI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention)
- Subject to annual TB test
- Valid Driver's license from state of residence
- Ability to operate motor vehicle for 15 passengers or less
- Very heaving lifting with assistance
- Visual acuity must be accurate to write and read small print and record data
- Ability to wear protective clothing to prevent exposure to infection
- Ability to work double shifts as necessary
- Ability to work nights
- Ability to work outdoors
- Ability to work in temperature extremes of heat and cold for short time periods
- Ability to work in noise and hazards including the possibility of physical assault, property destruction, and infections
