Job Summary
Direct Support Professional (DSP) for IDD adults in Grand Junction, CO. Provide person-centered services and supervision to clients, helping them develop daily living and social skills to live as independently as possible. Duties include teaching self-help, social, interpersonal, and daily living skills; transporting clients per policy; assisting with personal care; reviewing client-specific protocols and plans; gathering supplies and materials for activities; completing daily documentation; managing challenging behaviors; communicating with team members and supervisors; participating in supervision and service plan meetings; following safety procedures and agency policies; maintaining professional boundaries; representing the agency positively; and performing additional duties as assigned. Requires certifications/trainings (CPR, First Aid, CPI, QMAP, etc.), driving responsibilities, and the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age 18
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
- CPR, First Aid – client contact is limited prior to certification
- CPI within 60 days of hire; client contact is limited until this training is completed
- Van Drivers Training – before driving an Ariel owned vehicle
- QMAP – within 60 days of hire, may not provide medication to clients without this certification
- Informed Supervision training
- BSIT
