Job Summary
Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in housing and community settings. Responsibilities include helping people identify and achieve personal life goals, advocating in various situations, teaching new life skills, promoting health and safety, assisting in building social networks, partnering with an interdisciplinary team to develop service plans, providing positive behavior support, documenting care, facilitating community involvement, and transporting clients to appointments or outings. Ability to perform routine healthcare-related tasks when needed, maintain accurate documentation, and uphold confidentiality is essential. The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills, and includes in-person work with potential driving responsibilities.
