Job Summary
Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental illness, or traumatic brain injury to achieve personal outcomes. Responsibilities include helping people set and realize daily living goals, teaching life skills, advocating for and supporting health and safety, accurately documenting services, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement service plans. The role involves transporting clients to appointments or outings, administering bedside or personal care as needed, assisting with meals and housekeeping, maintaining timely documentation, and ensuring respectful, ethical, and confidential interactions. Requirements include English proficiency for training and communication, strong teamwork and organizational skills, and a valid driver’s license for travel in agency vehicles.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Experience performing related job duties preferred
- Valid Driver’s License and satisfy criteria to be a driver for the agency required
