Job Summary
Implement and maintain treatment plans for individuals with developmental disabilities in medical and behavioral settings. Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, food preparation, and mobility support for those with physical limitations. Execute behavioral support and monitoring plans while managing complex medical needs such as wound care, feeding, and respiratory care. Maintain accurate service records for medication administration, behavior data, and incidents to ensure regulatory compliance with OPWDD and COA standards. Transport persons to hospitals, institutions, and recreational activities, and facilitate participation in community events and advisory boards. De-escalate challenging behaviors and respond to crises to ensure the safety of residents and others.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Valid NY, PA, CT and NJ Driver's License with 6 or less points
- NADSP Certification
- Knowledge of Developmental Disabilities
- Experience working with adults that have developmental disabilities
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, custodians and standards governing residential programs for persons with developmental disabilities
- Capacity to organize time effectively, prioritize assignments, and maintain authentic/ contemporaneous records
- The ability to handle confidentiality within HIPAA effectively and tactfully with family/advocates, visitors, government agencies, and the public
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with coworkers to deliver continuity of care and dignity to those served
- Demonstrated strong commitment to safety
