Job Summary
Ensure appropriate supervision, health, and safety of individuals while implementing their Individual Plan of Protective Oversight. Advocate for individuals in the community for medical appointments, church, and recreation activities. Administer medication as prescribed and assist with daily living skills including personal hygiene, food preparation, and housekeeping. Maintain facility compliance with OPWDD and COA standards, prepare balanced meals, and clean residential units. Transport and escort individuals to recreational activities, medical appointments, and home visits. Complete daily progress notes, individual logs, and documentation of goals. Observe and report regressive or unusual behavior to clinical staff. Remain on shift until relief arrives and maintain updated certifications in CPR, first aid, SCIP, and AMAP.
Required Qualifications
- High School / G.E.D.
- Valid NY, PA, CT and NJ Driver's License with 6 or less points
- NADSP Certification must be obtained within the probationary period of employment and maintained annually thereafter
Desired Qualifications
- Related college coursework in areas of nursing, health sciences, or medical preferred
- 2+ years of working in a healthcare field
- CNA Preferred
- AMAP, SCIP, CPR, and First Aid Certifications preferred
- Experience working with adults that have developmental disabilities
