Job Summary
Assure people served receive adequate support with activities of daily living, including functional mobility, bathing, dressing, self-feeding, and toileting. Provide one-to-one assistance with lavatory functions, change individuals promptly when soiling occurs, and ensure safe transfers, lifts, and wheelchair positioning. Organize and manage daily services for assigned individuals or groups, maintaining close contact with staff to implement individual service and support plans. Network with the community to enable participants to engage in activities like outings, events, and social gatherings. Drive a PDI vehicle on company business, requiring a valid license and insurance. Work primarily in community settings with occasional exposure to outdoor weather and wet conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Age 21 or over
- Valid driver's license
- Current and valid automobile insurance
- Computer literacy
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills
- Ability to complete and pass First Aid, CPR, and other required training
- Ability to agree to a review of motor vehicle record
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to clearly and legibly write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively with people served and their support networks and co-workers
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, and Internet software
- Ability to learn and gain proficiency in other software and applications used by PDI
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with the aid of an assistive device

- Must be available for weekends, nights, and overnights
- Must be able to pass pre-employment testing and random screens that may occur at any time and without notice while employed by PDI
