Job Summary
Ensure appropriate supervision, health, and safety of individuals by implementing their Individual Plan of Protective Oversight. Advocate for individuals in the community for medical appointments, church, and recreation activities while assisting with daily living skills like personal hygiene, food preparation, and shopping. Administer medication as prescribed, facilitate fire safety training, and complete daily progress notes and individual logs. Plan and prepare balanced meals, maintain the residential unit, and transport individuals to home visits and other activities. Observe and report unusual behavior, provide spiritual and ethical support, and maintain updated certifications in CPR, first aid, SCIP, and AMAP. Remain on shift until relief arrives and complete job-related tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid NY/NJ/CT/PA Driver's License with 6 points or less
- Experience working with adults that have developmental disabilities
- Demonstrated strong commitment to safety
Desired Qualifications
- AMAP, SCIP, CPR, and First Aid Certifications preferred
