Job Summary
Provide reliable transportation for persons supported to destinations including community events, day programs, household errands, and medical appointments. Operate vehicles safely in compliance with Wisconsin traffic laws, assist clients with vehicle entry/exit and wheelchair lifts, and utilize mobile technology for dispatch communication. Maintain thorough documentation, train staff on vehicle and lift systems, and keep vehicles clean. Adhere to policies regarding vehicle use and transportation while meeting assigned schedules. Full-time role with weekday and weekend rotations; base rate $17.00/hr plus weekend premium. Requires valid Wisconsin driver's license with three-year clean record and high school diploma or equivalent.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED/HSED, or equivalent work experience
- Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with 3 years clean driving record
- Demonstrates skill and/or potential in working with individuals with special needs in a supportive environment, while exercising courtesy and maintaining individual dignity
- Exercises good personal judgment, critical thinking skills and punctuality
- Demonstrates professionalism, confidentiality and strong communication skills
- Maintain a work schedule that meets the needs of the assigned transportation trips
- Meets training and continuing education requirements per company standards
- Adhere to policies and procedures regarding vehicle use and transportation
Desired Qualifications
- May be asked to assist with transportation trips outside assigned area
