Job Summary
Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides person-centered support to individuals with physical and/or intellectual disabilities per DBHDD Waiver Standards and DCH Medicaid rules. Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, medication self-administration guidance, community outings and activities, safety and supervision, documentation and reporting, implementing ISP and BSP plans, supporting skill development in self-help, socialization, communication, budgeting, and transportation training, and advocating for individuals’ choices and rights. Requires ability to perform First Aid/ CPR, maintain confidentiality, communicate effectively in English, organize and multi-task, and work independently with minimal supervision. Education: High School Diploma or GED; Valid driver’s license and ability to transport individuals; CPI/NCI, CPR/First Aid trainings or ability to obtain; willingness to travel for trainings; compliance with DBHDD and Georgia law requirements. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
- Proof of current automobile insurance
- Ability to perform the skills and duties of the position
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities preferred
- CPR/First Aid and CPI trainings or ability to obtain
- Ability to drive passenger vehicle if applicable
- Annual TB test
- Background check and drug screening
- Vaccination requirements (influenza/COVID-19) as applicable
- HIPAA compliance acknowledgement
