Job Summary
Support individuals with disabilities in leading self-directed lives by overseeing safety and health considerations while promoting skill development, interests, and hobbies. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and establish working relationships with participants, families, and community agencies. Maintain knowledge of Home and Community Based Waivers and Person Centered Planning principles, communicating effectively in English. Full-time roles offer Monday-Friday 8:30am-3:30pm schedules at $18/hour with comprehensive benefits including free medical insurance. Part-time positions run Monday-Friday 8:30am-2:30pm at $20/hour without benefits. Candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED and prefer personal experience working with individuals with disabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English
- Reasonable flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to the scheduling needs of the individual
- Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies
- Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver, and the ability to keep up to date pertaining to such knowledge, and interpret same
- Understanding of Person Centered Planning
Desired Qualifications
- Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities
- High School diploma or GED
