Job Summary
Support individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities with their personal basic needs, daily activities, and goal achievement. Assist clients in leading dignified, independent lives within their homes and the community by actively participating in developing and implementing care plans. Communicate regularly with individuals and their families while maintaining documentation of daily activities using a reliable mobile device. Perform physical tasks including lifting and transferring individuals up to 50 pounds to ensure mobility during household and community activities. Work flexible full-time or part-time schedules with available overtime, requiring a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Consent to and pass a required State Background Check
- Be legally eligible to work in the United States
- Be free of convictions of founded allegations of abuse
- Experience or sincere interest in working with adults or children with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities within a setting promoting community integration, normalization, and treatment of all people with dignity and respect
- Ability to actively participate in developing and implementing plans to meet the needs of the individuals served
- Ability to communicate with individuals and their families
- Minimum of high school diploma or demonstrated equivalent
- Regularly stoop, bend, lift and carry at least fifty (50) pounds of weight without assistance
- Ability to lift and/or transfer physically challenged individuals who require such assistance to remain active and mobile while engaged in household or community activities
- Reliable mobile device for timekeeping and documentation of daily activities
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance (if transporting individuals)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) or caretaker
