Job Summary
Instructional Aides needed for the Extended School Year (ESY) program. Positions involve supporting ECSE & MoCI programs, assisting the teacher with instruction, administering remedial activities, and helping with feeding and toileting. Requires high school graduation with additional college hours (60 hours) or an associate degree (or higher), or equivalent experience and a valid Michigan driver’s license. Summer session with hours that vary by assignment. Pay scale per Master Agreement.
Required Qualifications
- Meet the standards for highly qualified paraprofessionals as defined by MDE
- High school graduate with at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (equal to 60 semester hours), or obtain an associate’s degree (or higher)
- or meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through the passage of an approved formal state academic assessment in the following areas: knowledge of, and the ability to assist in, instructing reading, writing, and mathematics; or knowledge of, and the ability to assist in, instructing reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness
- OR
- High school graduate or equivalent with a minimum of two (2) years of successful experience as an aide in a daycare training program, a trainable classroom, or equivalent experience, and be recommended by an administrator who has supervised the aide's work for at least one year
- Possess a valid Michigan driver’s license.
