DSD Class A Relief Driver

Job Summary
Conduct daily Class A delivery routes for Turkey Hill's ice cream and beverage products, ensuring proper product placement, temperature control, and accurate invoice verification. Load and unload merchandise while maintaining GMP regulations, safety guidelines, and good housekeeping in the truck cab. Complete all required paperwork, including proof of delivery, credit memos, and route summaries, and collect payments as needed. Communicate customer concerns to supervisors and report mechanical issues to the Garage department. Maintain the Electronic Logging Device to adhere to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and hours of service requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Must be available for flexible daily schedule to cover vacations and absences
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Valid and updated medical certification
- Must work in a team environment
- Maintain adherence to work hours scheduled specifically starting, ending, lunch and break schedules
- Perform all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations and safety guidelines
- Be accountable to the Turkey Hill Food Safety and Quality Principles
- Must be able to ascend and descend stairs
- Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed
- Must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use
- Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment
- Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and/or push/pull 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Drivers must have at least 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction, and a field of vision of at least 70 degrees in the horizontal meridian in each eye
- Drivers must be able to recognize the colors of traffic signals
- Drivers must be able to perceive a forced whisper at a distance of at least 5 feet, with or without a hearing aid
- Blood Pressure and Pulse must be within normal ranges
- Drivers must be in good overall health, free from medical conditions that could impair the ability to drive safely
- Drivers must pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Drivers are subject to random testing throughout employment
- Must be able to talk and/or hear in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are high (PPE required)
- Must be able to wear mandated PPE based on assigned job area
- Must be able to stand and walk in a manufacturing environment for 8+ hours
- Must be able to perform various job-related tasks including walking, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, squatting, and kneeling daily
