Job Summary
Plan, install, hang, and tape new drywall sheets, ensuring proper alignment and secure fastening. Apply joint compound, feather, and sand joints to achieve smooth, seamless surfaces. Repair and patch damaged drywall, holes, water damage, and cracks across clubhouses, residential units, and facility buildings. Match and replicate various wall textures for invisible repairs. Assess, repair, and stabilize traditional plaster walls and ceilings, including lath repair and multi-coat systems. Inspect walls for structural integrity, moisture damage, or mold before performing repairs, reporting significant issues to management. Manage supply inventory for drywall, joint compounds, and specialized tools. Follow OSHA/MSDS guidelines, use appropriate PPE, and ensure dust control measures are strictly followed. Clean areas, supplies, and equipment upon project completion.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 10 years of experience as a professional drywall and plaster tech
- at least 3–5 years of dedicated experience in drywall hanging, finishing, mudding, and plaster repair
- Strong proficiency in utilizing drywall/plaster tools (e.g., trowels, hawks, taping knives, drywall saws, automatic tapers, and sanding equipment)
- Must be able to work flexible schedules which may include nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to comfortably work in an intensely deadline-oriented environment
- Ability to use systems and technology to manage work orders
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to read, write and speak in English
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to use step ladders, extension ladders, and 6ft scaffolding
Desired Qualifications
- Private club, hotel or resort experience preferred
- Experience in the construction, remodeling, or restoration field is a plus
- Experience in Painting a plus
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification a plus
- Certifications and training in painting, drywall installation, or historic plaster restoration is a plus
