Job Summary
Feed veneer sheets into the dryer rollers, maintaining the machine 97% full while moving back and forth on an elevated platform. Remove overlaps, discard wane sheets, and clear jams using lock-out/tag-out procedures. Operate pedals and buttons to control power and height, perform weekly maintenance like greasing and oiling, and conduct routine cleanings including debris removal and basement tube extraction. Communicate via radio during downtime, assist co-workers on plug-ups, and execute cleanup during changeovers.
Required Qualifications
- Must successfully complete structured job training and testing to become a certified operator
- Must have excellent hand eye coordination
- Use vision/hearing continuously and must have peripheral vision to see the trays and co-workers
- Reading and speech required to communicate comprehension of Job Hazard Analysis, machine specific lockout procedures, monthly safety training, etc
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to carry 10-50 lbs
- Must be able to push/pull 75 lbs
- Must be able to bend/stoop
- Must be able to twist
- Must be able to crouch/squat
- Must be able to kneel
- Must be able to crawl
- Must be able to walk on level surface
- Must be able to walk on uneven surface
