Drum Operator

Drum Operator will run a potato-dehydration drum to maintain an adequate and consistent flow of mash, adjust the feed auger speed and roller settings, and shovel product as needed to meet quality specifications. Responsibilities include keeping mash on applicator rolls, ensuring clean mash on rollers, minimizing waste/defects by maintaining proper sheet thickness, using a bullhide knife to remove bullhides, and notifying the Flake Operator or Shift Manager of problems. The role requires working near the drum at all times, inspecting product for defects and maintaining quality standards, following safety regulations, and performing sanitation duties to prevent cross-contamination. Must be able to stand for extended periods, handle heavy lifting (35-50 lb mash, up to 50 lb without assistance and 100 lb with assistance), and work in a 24/7 plant environment with exposure to heat, dust, and noise.
