Job Summary
Drum Instructors are responsible for developing lesson plans and instructing children aged 6-12 in reading music and playing the drum set. Key responsibilities include teaching beginners through advanced learners, providing individual guidance, writing class outlines, and creating a safe and enjoyable learning environment. Candidates should demonstrate musical talent, patience, and creativity with a minimum of 2 years teaching experience, good communication skills in English, and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Maintaining compliance with safety and behavioral management policies is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old
- At least 2 years of prior experience teaching
- Must be able to function effectively with minimal or no supervision
- Must be able to demonstrate various skills in the area of instruction specified
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
- Must be in good physical and mental health
- Must maintain a professional attitude and approach to problem-solving
- Ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to children of all ages
- Ability to handle security and crisis situations calmly
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual English-Spanish preferred
- Certification or degree in a related field or level of expertise
