Job Summary
Drug Screen Technician responsible for collecting urine and hair specimens for drug screening, performing DOT/non-DOT breath alcohol tests, and communicating results to employers. Tasks include obtaining proper identification and chain of custody, preparing specimens for reference labs, maintaining confidentiality, entering data into Systoc, coordinating results with the Medical Review Officer (MRO), notifying employers of delays or negative results, managing supply inventory, and performing clerical duties. Role supports QA activities and diary updates for department competency and safety compliance; acts as a PR representative for the Occupational Health program and participates in meetings and committees.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of DOT and non-DOT drug screening rules and regulations
- Proficient use of Systoc Occupational Health software
- Data entry and documentation for chain of custody
- Ability to communicate results to employers professionally
- Clerical skills including mailing and filing chain of custody forms
- Certification/classification for DOT breath alcohol testing (upon completion) and adherence to protocols
