Job Summary
Conduct thorough assessments of clients' substance use history, mental health status, and social circumstances to determine appropriate treatment needs. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment and recovery plans in coordination with multidisciplinary team members. Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on relapse prevention, coping strategies, and life skills development. Maintain detailed case records and progress notes for court review while monitoring client compliance with court-ordered requirements, including drug testing and attendance. Coordinate with legal professionals, treatment providers, and community agencies to ensure clients receive comprehensive support services. Advocate for clients' needs while maintaining the integrity of the court's objectives and public safety. Participate in regular team meetings and court hearings to discuss client progress and adjust treatment plans.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related human services field
- Certification or licensure as a substance abuse counselor as required by the state of employment
- Minimum of two years' experience working with individuals affected by substance use disorders, preferably within a criminal justice or court setting
- Strong knowledge of addiction treatment modalities, behavioral health issues, and community resources
- Ability to pass background checks and comply with confidentiality and ethical standards
