Job Summary
Deliver behind-the-wheel instruction to students of varying ages and experience levels, following AAA's curriculum and training standards. Use driving school software to track and manage student progress while assessing performance and providing personalized guidance. Stay current on safe and defensive driving practices and maintain all required state documentation. Travel within a 50-mile radius as needed, utilizing a company vehicle with fully covered fuel, maintenance, and insurance. Work 40 hours weekly, including weekday shifts starting between 11:30am-1:00pm and weekend days beginning as early as 7:00am. Earn $24.50–$26.00 hourly with eligibility for an incentive program after the first year.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in driving instruction, education, or the automotive industry
- Confidence working with the public, especially teens
- A strong commitment to promoting safe driving habits
- Flexibility to accommodate student schedules, including weekday afternoons and at least one weekend day
- Physical ability to sit for extended periods, hear and see in all weather conditions, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and lift up to 25lbs
- Must be capable of safely assuming control of the vehicle from the passenger seat during instruction or emergency situations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Minimum of 5 years of driving experience
- Must obtain state-issued Driving School Instructor license, which includes passing a DMV-required physical exam
- Must successfully complete a background check and drug screening
