Job Summary
In a Coastline Academy car, educate and advise students behind the wheel, teaching fundamental driving skills and rules of the road. The role includes paid training to obtain state instructor certification, in-car lessons, shadowing and in-person training with a Certified Trainer, and documenting student progress. The day typically consists of afternoon and weekend lessons, with a focus on safety, clear instruction, and maintaining professionalism with students and team members. Training involves 60 hours (40 hours at home/online modules and 20 hours behind-the-wheel in-person) and in-car practice in the local area.
Required Qualifications
- A genuine passion for helping people learn
- Ability to remain calm in a learning environment
- A valid State Driver's License in the state you wish to work in
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and reference check
- Must have 10 years of legal driving experience
- A strong safety mindset and strong reasoning ability
- Ability to give clear instruction, coach, communicate effectively to others
- Ability to focus for extended periods of time
